This lampshade retools the flashlight feature of a smartphone into a lamp. Using a central tube to disperse the harsh light of the phone, the lampshade converts the vertical light from the phone into horizontal light difused by the three prisms.
By shifting along the central axis, the prisms not only inform the visual aesthetic of the design, but also allow for more even light dispersion. The prisms decrease in size as they ascend, reflecting the intensity of the light that they emit.
