Challenged to create an invitation that incorporated themes of the event itself, I chose to design an invite for a Mind to Motion climbing camp. Using the idea of unpacking complex movement while climbing, the physical invite unfolds to reveal increasingly specific details about the event. The folds and corresponding creases also mimic the geometry often found on the competition climbing wall.
Translating the physical invite into a digital format was the second design challenge of the project. Rather than simply copying the physical invite, the digital version works with the familiar format of an instagram post. The seamless sliding digital invite retains the idea of revealing information piece by piece while also integrating many similar geometries found in the physical invite.
