Designed as a personal project during quarantine, the circle pants were a self-initiated exploration into pattern making and sewing. Using an existing pair of pants as a reference, I created a pattern which I then modified to incorporate the circles.
The accented circles act as an expansion of the seam. Expanding past the boundaries of the normal outseam, the circles are a visual focal point which still retain the functionality of connecting the front and back panels of the pants.
While the majority of the pants are a simple black denim, the circle offered opportunities to explore different colors and textures as more pairs were made and the pattern was refined.
